Born out of the collaboration between Paul Lay and Joël Suhubiette, *Waves of Light* reflects their desire to bring together two worlds: that of the Les Éléments Chamber Choir, which since 1997 has been exploring five centuries of vocal music, and that of Paul Lay, whose work is steeped in both Western musical culture and the African-American tradition, ranging from jazz to blues, swing to gospel.

Les Éléments Chamber Choir therefore invited Paul Lay to compose a unique programme bringing the two ensembles together.

Premiered in 2024, Waves of Light was recorded in 2025 at the ThéâtredelaCité in Toulouse. The album was released on CD and vinyl on 30 January 2026
