Polychoralité
JOSQUIN DES PRES, GALLUS, MENDELSSOHN, BRAHMS, RACHMANINOV, MARTIN, MARKEAS
With 2, 4 or 6 choirs in front or spread throughout the concert hall, Les Éléments explores polychoral writing from the Renaissance to the present day. The audience is fully immersed in sound thanks to the “spatialisation” of some of the programme's works.
“Our favourite in 2018: the "Polychoralité" concert by the very beautiful Les Éléments choir. Whether surrounded by the singers, enveloping the venue with their music, or performing in front of the audience, we were treated to a journey from the 16th to the 21st century, with, in particular, a shivering rendition of Pater Noster by Rachmaninoff, a light-hearted Mass for Double Choir by Frank Martin and a surprise finale by Alexandros Markeas entitled Medea Cinderella, a musical play composed in 2011 for the choir.” S. Bourdais, Télérama, 27.09.2018
